Why waste money on expensive binoculars? Simply stand closer to the object you wish to observe.

The objective end of binoculars gives you light transmission, ie the larger, the brighter. I believe more versatile than the 7 power would be a good 10×42, or 10×50. After you determine the power you want, it is all about the glass and coatings to add brightness. I personally own a Pentax 12×50 that are brilliant. They are a little cumbersome to hunt with, so I purchased a smaller 10×42 bushnell pair to hunt with. My back up is a Nikon 10×24 compact that will fit in a pocket.
When you buy, dont jump on the first pair you see. Shop around for price. Include the NYC camera shops, because that is where I purchsed my Pentax, and no sporting goods even came close to the price.
Post ride swing run. 1/2 mi wu, 8×30 sec 6min pace / 90 second 745min pace. Finished strong w 6 min pace to 5k mark… Perfect!
